The Serenity Prayer–
God, grant me the Serenity
to Accept the things I cannot change
Courage to Change the things I can
and Wisdom to know the difference

Al-Anon is a fellowship for friends and relatives who are being affected by another person’s drinking. At our Al-Anon meetings, which are held daily in the greater Winston-Salem region (WSAIS covers Forsyth, Davie, Iredell, Rockingham, Surry, and Yadkin counties, and part of Davidson County), you will find the support and friendship that we have found.

** Note: This website is here to provide our local Al-Anon information. If you need to talk to someone or get more information, please call our telephone hotline at 336-723-1452. **

You may want to get more information about Al-Anon family groups from the Al-Anon Family Groups (World Service Office) website here. You can also listen to Podcasts about Al-Anon here. You can also download and read free flyers here.

At meetings members share their experience, strength and hope on different topics. We have found that our lives improve as we begin to apply the Al-Anon principles, using the tools of our program; the 12 Steps, the 12 Traditions, the Serenity Prayer, our slogans and our literature. We are not a religious program, nor do we give advice or discuss religion, treatment programs or the like.

Rather, Al-Anon is a spiritual program in which people are given room to find a Higher Power or the God of their own understanding, an essential part of recovery from the effects of being around the disease of alcoholism.

Most important, in Al-Anon, your anonymity is protected at all times.

You may reach our telephone hotline service at (336) 723-1452 and talk to an Al-Anon member.
